During the final days of Communism in Romania in 1987, two students, Otilia and Gabita, face a very complicated situation: one of them, Gabita, is pregnant. More precisely, she is four months, three weeks and two days pregnant. The girls arrange to meet a certain Mr. Bebe to perform Gabita’s abortion, which is considered illegal in the country since 1966. Further trouble ensues when he refuses the money, and wants to be paid in kind.
